FAQ · LOCA - LIFT

The practical questions to ask before hiring a lift.

Price, equipment, access, parking and preparation: make an informed request with concrete answers. LOCA - LIFT confirms feasibility, the quote and the appointment for your exact address and date.

FAQ

Price, quotes and duration

Understand the amount before comparing two offers.

What does the « from €56 » price mean?

It is a starting price, not an amount that applies to every job. Address, floor, duration and equipment can change the quote. The inclusions of that starting price are not established here. Check the calculator or ask LOCA - LIFT to confirm duration, VAT, travel charges and the conditions that apply before treating it as your final amount.

How do I know what my quote includes?

Compare offers for the same address, floor and duration. Have equipment, operator, travel charges, VAT, possible supplements and loading help clarified. The calculator provides the details of your request. For unusual access or an additional service, ask LOCA - LIFT for written confirmation so that the scope of work and the amount are understood before the appointment.

How much time should I book, and what if I need longer?

Explain whether this is a single item or a move, how many objects are involved and what will be ready at both levels. Have the reserved time, what it covers and the charge for additional time confirmed. An extension is not automatically available. Contact the team as soon as you expect an overrun rather than relying on availability on the day.

FAQ

Equipment, height and access

Choose equipment that fits the frontage and the items.

Furniture lift, moving lift or hoist: what should I request?

For a move, these terms generally refer to external equipment that takes objects up or down through a window or balcony. Explain your actual need: opening, floor, item and possible setup space. LOCA - LIFT presents several equipment types. The team determines what suits your access rather than selecting a machine solely because of the name used in your request.

Which floor and weight can a moving lift handle?

Permitted height and load depend on the machine, its reach and how it can be positioned at the building. A floor number alone is not enough. Provide the level, distance from the frontage, item dimensions and estimated weights. Have the limits of the selected equipment confirmed; figures from another job do not amount to approval for your own access.

Can I hire a lift for just one sofa or a bulky appliance?

The calculator includes a furniture-delivery situation. Specify that you have one item and measure both the item and the opening, including an estimated weight. Total volume alone does not show whether a sofa or bulky appliance will fit through. Have equipment, duration and the people needed confirmed before arranging the appointment for your particular delivery.

Can a lift go through a courtyard, garden or narrow passage?

LOCA - LIFT presents trailer and electric equipment for some difficult access routes, but the passage needs assessment. Measure available width and height and describe the ground, slope, steps and obstacles. Add the distance to the frontage and a wide photograph. The team can then check feasibility and prepare an offer for that particular setup instead of assuming a standard vehicle can reach it.

Is having a window or balcony enough to install a furniture lift?

The opening must allow the item through, and the equipment must be compatible with the frontage. Clear obstructing curtains, plants and furniture and mention railings, awnings and other obstacles. Do not treat a photograph alone as technical approval. Describe the balcony’s visible condition too, and ask LOCA - LIFT to confirm positioning and feasibility for your particular building.

FAQ

Operator and loading

Agree who does what at the top and the bottom.

Does the operator carry and move my furniture?

The lift assignment described in the conditions is setting up and operating the equipment. It is not a complete removal service with carrying or transport. If you need handling help, specify that when requesting a quote and have that service confirmed separately. Do not assume that occasional help is included simply because an operator is present at the job.

How many people should I arrange to load and receive items?

The number depends on the items, their weight, the opening and the agreed service. Describe these details to LOCA - LIFT and clarify who will help at the bottom and top. Prepare access in advance to avoid waiting during the hire. Operating the lift does not automatically include the entire team needed to carry or handle your belongings.

Is the service suitable for shops, kitchen fitters and professional deliveries?

LOCA - LIFT also presents services for companies and professionals in furniture and construction. Specify the delivery type, dimensions, weight, opening and site restrictions. Have the receiving arrangements and coordination with your own team clarified. The fact that professional deliveries are offered does not in itself confirm that every individual load is compatible with the equipment selected for the job.

FAQ

Parking and preparation

Arrange setup space and prepare belongings before arrival.

Who needs to arrange and reserve the lift’s setup space?

The LOCA - LIFT conditions place the necessary parking arrangements and their costs with the customer. Ask your municipality about the applicable procedure and clarify the required space and division of tasks with LOCA - LIFT. Check that the area will be clear before arrival. A space you expect to be available does not replace a reservation or permit when one is required.

Is a parking reservation enough, or do I need another permit?

That depends on the address and the space being occupied. Anderlecht’s published procedure, for example, distinguishes permission to occupy the public road from no-parking signs. Ask the municipality where the job takes place what applies, including documents, charges and lead times. Do not use another municipality’s rules as a universal deadline for every lift intervention.

What should I prepare before the lift arrives?

Pack and close boxes, identify fragile contents and keep access routes clear. Have keys, appointment details and the agreed people ready at the top and bottom. Clear the chosen opening and the outside setup area. For delicate furniture, ask in advance who will provide protection or dismantling; these tasks should not be assumed to be included in lift hire.

FAQ

Booking and conditions

Confirm the appointment and discuss changes in advance.

How far in advance should I request a lift?

The official calculator displays a minimum of three working days before an appointment. Prepare your request early and also allow for parking procedures. That displayed lead time does not guarantee that equipment or a time slot is available. For a nearer date or a particular constraint, call dispatch to check the actual options rather than assuming an urgent appointment can be accepted.

Does an estimate or a submitted form confirm my booking?

An estimate helps you plan a budget; it does not replace LOCA - LIFT accepting the request. Before considering the visit confirmed, check the time slot, address, equipment, duration, amount and conditions. Keep the confirmation you receive and communicate any access detail that could change feasibility or the arrangements for the appointment rather than leaving it until the day.

What if the date changes, the weather is bad or I need to cancel?

Contact dispatch promptly and explain the change before assuming a postponement, extension or cancellation will be free. Have the conditions for your booking confirmed. No universal weather threshold is stated here: the team must assess conditions and access. Do not infer from another job that proceeding with the intervention or receiving a refund will automatically be possible in your situation.

Are my belongings automatically insured during the intervention?

Do not assume that lift hire includes comprehensive insurance for your possessions. The conditions discuss arranging furniture insurance through Loca-Lift or your own insurer. Before the job, ask about cover, exclusions and the process appropriate for your items. Also clarify which protection applies to loading, unloading and transport if those operations form part of your particular project.
